The Jefo Foundation was created by Jean Fontaine and Nicolas Jobin with the goal of promoting the agri-food industry in Quebec, but also on a global scale.

Since 2015, its mission has been to raise awareness among young people about agriculture at all stages of their educational development, while encouraging recognition of the great contribution of agricultural professions to society in general, in order to demystify this sector.

The Jefo Foundation is part of a sustainable approach, offering support to agricultural professionals. It implements innovative projects to enable the field of agriculture to gain recognition and value in the eyes of society, while opening new perspectives for the future.

Message from Management

This year, the Jefo Foundation reached a milestone that makes us especially proud: after 10 years of investing in the next generation of Quebec’s agricultural and agri-food sectors, we have expanded our support across Canada. For the first time, our scholarships are supporting students in several post-secondary institutions nationwide. Seeing our mission grow and flourish from coast to coast is a tremendous source of pride and hope.

Every single scholarship, educational project, and initiative we support is guided by a strong believe: investing in young people means investing in the future of our food system. It is a vision we share with our partners, donors, and friends who stand with us every step of the way. Thanks to them, we are not just awarding scholarships – we are opening doors, helping dreams take shape, and strengthening a dedicated and growing community.

We are already seeing the impact: thousands of young students are discovering agriculture as early as elementary school, post-secondary students are persevering despite challenges, and the next generation feels equipped, supported, and recognized. Together, we are building a community grounded in trust and hope for those who will shape the future of agriculture and agri-food.
